No More Heroes Xbox 360, PS3 Has No More Motion Control

Kotaku: The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 port of No More Heroes won’t take advantage of new motion control schemes for those respective platforms, according to Marvelous Entertainment head honcho Yasuhiro Wada, condemning Travis Touchdown to an analogue control fate.

Wada tells Edge Online that No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise is getting the high-definition once over to "bring the game to a wider audience." To wit, Marvelous isn’t "currently considering to use uncommon new technology" like Project Natal and Sony’s still-unnamed(?) motion controller.

Top 7 blatantly sexist game advertisements

GamesRadar writes:

"We suspect it’s very difficult to work in game advertising. Videogames are a scary new artistic medium, and as such, not everyone knows how to market them – even to their target demographic. More than with anything else, videogame ad-makers love to target their audience with sex and sexy imagery, but that’s nothing surprising – advertisers have been using gender dynamics to sell products on TV since the Folgers coffee days.

Still, as games branch out and begin to reach a wider audience, advertisers are relying on more and more out-there PR stunts to get their product noticed. Where is this marketing madness heading? Well, we certainly don’t have the answers here. What we do have is a collection of game ads that veered way off course in trying to appeal to their target demographic, and instead came off as 30- to 40-second chunks of ridiculous, outrageous sexism."

Release of the Week: Rogue Warrior

GrE writes, "Rogue Warrior could easily slip by this holiday season. Whether or not this is a good thing has yet to be determined. There are some pretty big things working against it. First of all, there has already been a first person shooter that focuses on killing Russians this year. Competing against Modern Warfare 2 isn’t exactly a great business plan, as evidenced by numerous releases fleeing to the first quarter of 2010. Secondly, this game appeals to those who watched a lot of 80’s movies. Hell, the main character is voiced by Mickey Rourke. Appealing to older gamers isn’t a bad thing, but they only have so much time. Most of that is going towards the aforementioned Modern Warfare 2…"

Sony’s 3D TV Future

IGN: The use of 3D technology in TVs is something we’re still waiting to become fully realized. Just about every manufacturer is making an effort to bring viewers into the third dimension, however, Sony is one of the few to fully commit themselves to focusing on 3D when it comes to their future lineup, even going so far to say they predict that 3D televisions will account for 30 to 50 percent of all the TVs the company sells in the fiscal year starting April 2012.

Review: Left 4 Dead 2 | GamesAreEvil

GrE writes, "When the zombie apocalypse comes, the good people at Valve will definitely outlive us all (assuming they didn’t cause it that is). They already have plenty of experience in the zombie killing business thanks to the 2008 release of Left 4 Dead – and here we are just one year later, with L4D2! Valve took a lot of heat for launching a sequel so soon after the original dropped, but make no mistake, this is no expansion. There are new campaigns, new infected, new weapons, and new game modes to satisfy your craving for delicious brains…"
