More Of A Look At Duke Nukem Forever

Ironstar writes: "So it's not enough to say that Duke Nukem Forever was amazing. The trailer pumped up the crowd, and the gameplay wowed us. After twelve years, it was worth the wait. You've already seen Treezy's look at the game. So I'll just say that I thought it played great, the controls were just right and will surely make old fans nostalgic. It was immensely fun for those fifteen or so minutes, and it left me craving so much more. Truly the show stealer of PAX for me. And I have to definitely give it up to Gearbox for picking up this project and making something great out of it. Here are some shots I took during my demo time."

Betting against the odds: how Duke Nukem Forever is actually happening, and how awesome that is

"Extremely frustrating." Thats how Jon St. John, the longtime voice of Duke Nukem, described sitting on the sidelines and watching the well documented twelve year history of Duke Nukem Forever unfold. Kombo | Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Goes Gold

For those unfamiliar with the term going gold, in the game industry it pretty much means that the game is officially done. Developer Ninja Theory has sent a finished version of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West to the publishers to be copied hundreds of thousands of times, so that we can eventually spend $60 on it. Once the disc is in the mail, the creative director then ceremoniously swims around in a giant vault filled with gold coins, Scrooge McDuck style. Back at home base when people say, "Hey, where is that one guy (or gal) who was the creative director?" everyone unanimously responds, "She (or he) went gold!"
